ESDI接口的英文名稱是(Enhanced Small Drive Interface),它是邁拓公司于1983年開發(fā)的。其特點是將編解碼器放在硬盤本身之中,而不是在控制卡上,理論傳輸速度是前面所述的ST-506的2...4倍,一般可達到10Mbps。但其成本較高,與后來產生的IDE接口相比無優(yōu)勢可言,因此在九十年代后就被淘汰了。是老式硬盤的接口,它的電纜由兩部分組成,ESDI 接口在接口卡側的外觀為34腳和20腳公插針:
